Scraping Review Sites for B2B Leads: G2, Capterra, Trustpilot, Clutch, Google Reviews and Industry-Specific Review Platforms

Reviews as Intent Signals

When someone leaves a review on G2, Capterra, or TrustRadius for a software product, they are telling you several things: they are using that category of software, they have opinions about what works and what does not, and they are engaged enough to take time out of their day to share their experience publicly. For B2B sales teams, that is a set of intent signals stronger than almost any other publicly available data source.

A marketing director who leaves a 3-star review of a competing email marketing platform, mentioning that "the segmentation features are lacking and deliverability has been inconsistent," has essentially written you a sales brief. You know their role, their company, the product they are currently using, what they dislike about it, and what features matter to them. That is more qualification data than most SDRs gather in a 15-minute discovery call.

Review sites are not just sources of individual leads. They are maps of the competitive landscape: who uses what, why they chose it, what they wish were different, and when they are considering a switch.

Types of Review Platforms and What They Reveal

Software review platforms (G2, Capterra, TrustRadius, GetApp, Software Advice): These sites collect structured reviews from verified business software users. Reviews typically include the reviewer's name, title, company size, industry, and a detailed breakdown of pros, cons, and use cases. G2 and Capterra are the largest, with millions of reviews across thousands of software categories. The reviewer profiles and company information are the most valuable data for B2B prospecting.

Agency and service provider directories (Clutch, DesignRush, GoodFirms, Agency Spotter): These platforms list marketing agencies, development firms, design studios, and other service providers, along with client reviews. The client reviews reveal which companies are buying services in your category and what they value. If you sell tools or services to agencies, the agency profiles themselves are your prospect list. If you sell to the agencies' clients, the client reviews reveal companies with active projects.

General review platforms (Google Reviews, Trustpilot, Yelp, BBB): Less useful for B2B software prospecting but valuable for local service businesses. A business with a Google Business Profile and reviews is an active, operating business in a specific location and category -- basic qualification data for local B2B sales.

Industry-specific review sites (Healthgrades for healthcare, Avvo for legal, Houzz for home services, TripAdvisor for hospitality): These platforms aggregate professionals and businesses in specific verticals. If your product or service targets a specific industry, the industry review site is a pre-filtered prospect database.

Building Prospect Lists from Reviewer Data

The most direct approach is extracting contact information from reviewer profiles. On platforms like G2 and Capterra, reviewers often include their name, title, and company. While direct email addresses are rarely displayed in reviews, the name-plus-company combination is enough to find professional email addresses through business directories, company websites, and LinkedIn.

Save review pages, reviewer profile pages, and company listing pages as HTML. Upload to Email Extractor to extract any email addresses that appear in reviewer profiles, company descriptions, or reviewer bios. Some reviewers link to their professional profiles or company websites, which may contain direct contact information.

For agency directories like Clutch, the agency profiles typically include company website, email, phone, and key personnel. Save agency listing pages and individual agency profile pages as HTML. Upload to Email Extractor to extract contact emails from across all profiles in a single batch.

Competitive Intelligence from Reviews

Beyond individual leads, review sites provide strategic competitive intelligence that shapes your sales messaging and product positioning.

Monitor competitor reviews for recurring complaints. If multiple reviewers of a competing product mention the same problem ("the reporting is confusing," "customer support is slow," "the mobile app crashes"), that complaint is a sales talking point for your outreach: "I noticed several [Competitor] users have mentioned challenges with [specific issue]. Our platform was specifically designed to address that -- [brief explanation of how you solve it]. Would it be worth a quick demo to see the difference?"

Monitor your own product's reviews for honest feedback on what customers love and what frustrates them. Positive review themes become marketing copy. Negative review themes become product roadmap items and proactive customer success outreach.

Track new reviews over time. A competitor suddenly receiving negative reviews may be experiencing service issues, a product downgrade, or a pricing change that is pushing users to look for alternatives. That is a window for targeted outreach to their customer base.

Reviewed Company Listings as Prospect Data

Some review platforms list not just reviewers but the companies being reviewed, along with company profiles that include website, contact information, employee count, revenue range, and industry classification. These company profiles are pre-qualified prospect lists for B2B sales.

For example, G2's category pages list every company with a product in that category, along with user ratings, company size, and market segment. If you sell complementary tools (a CRM company targeting companies that use marketing automation, for example), the category listing of marketing automation tools shows you every company in the space, sorted by market presence and user satisfaction.

Save category listing pages and individual company profile pages as HTML. Upload to Email Extractor to extract contact information from company profiles, support pages, and about pages linked from the listings.

Outreach Based on Review Intelligence

Review-informed outreach is dramatically more effective than generic cold email because you can reference specific, public information that demonstrates you understand the prospect's situation.

For prospects reviewing competitors: "Hi [Name], I came across your review of [Competitor] on G2 where you mentioned [specific positive or negative point]. That resonated with us because our platform was designed specifically for [the use case or problem they described]. Would it be worth 15 minutes to see how we approach [the specific area they mentioned]?"

For prospects reviewing your own product positively: "Hi [Name], thank you for the kind words about [Your Product] on G2. Your comment about [specific feature they praised] really made our team's day. I noticed you also mentioned wanting [specific request or suggestion from the review]. I wanted to let you know that [update on that request: we just shipped it, it is on the roadmap for Q[X], or here is a workaround]. Is there anything else we can help with?"

For prospects reviewing your product negatively: "Hi [Name], I saw your recent review and I want to make sure we address the issues you raised about [specific complaint]. [Acknowledgment and solution: 'We have since updated our reporting dashboard based on feedback like yours' or 'I would like to connect you with our support team to resolve the [specific issue] you experienced']. Your feedback helps us improve, and I want to make sure your experience improves too."

Consolidating Review Site Data

If you are monitoring multiple review platforms for competitive intelligence and prospect data, consolidate regularly. Export saved pages and contact data from G2, Capterra, Clutch, and any industry-specific platforms. Upload all to Email Extractor to deduplicate. A prospect who reviewed your competitor on G2 and also appears in a Clutch agency listing should be one record with both data points noted.
