How to Extract Emails from Salesforce Campaign Members

On this page

Export and import options vary by plan, permissions and product version. Check the platform’s current help documentation if a menu or format differs. Use only contact data you are authorized to process; an extracted address is not proof of marketing consent.

Why Extract Campaign Members from Salesforce?

Salesforce Campaigns track marketing initiatives: events, webinars, email blasts, ad campaigns, trade shows and more. Each campaign has members (leads and contacts) with associated statuses like "Sent," "Responded" or "Attended." Extracting email addresses from campaign members is useful for follow-up outreach, cross-campaign analysis, list sharing with external teams or creating a backup.

While the general Salesforce export is covered in Extract Emails from Salesforce Export, this article focuses on campaign member data specifically.

Working with the Results

Campaign follow-up

Extract members with "Responded" or "Attended" status for targeted follow-up campaigns.

Cross-campaign analysis

Export members from multiple campaigns and upload together. Deduplication creates a combined list of unique email addresses. Download CSV with sources and compare the source names to find addresses shared by the exports. Use the original campaign records to measure engagement frequency; repeated address text is not a count of human opens or clicks.

Share with agencies

Share campaign member emails with external marketing agencies or partners who do not have Salesforce access.

Non-responder outreach

Extract members with "Sent" status (did not respond) for re-engagement through a different channel.

Verify addresses

Campaign members may include old leads with outdated addresses. See Best email verification services.

Things to Know

Contact data is not preserved

Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Names, companies, campaign statuses, dates and other Salesforce fields are not carried over.

Leads vs. contacts

Campaign members can be either leads or contacts. Both have email fields but they are separate objects in Salesforce.

Campaign member status

Each campaign defines its own member statuses (e. Filter by status before exporting for targeted lists.

Permissions

Access to campaign data depends on your Salesforce user profile and sharing settings. Some campaigns may be restricted.
