Apollo.io vs ZoomInfo vs Cognism: B2B Data Platform Comparison
On this page
Choose Around the Data and Workflow You Need
Apollo, ZoomInfo and Cognism all help teams work with business contact data. A useful comparison begins with your target records and export workflow, rather than a table of advertised database sizes.
The official references below were reviewed on 8 October 2026. This page describes documented capabilities and an evaluation method; it does not report a hands-on benchmark, typical bounce rates or a universal winner.
| Platform | Documented point to investigate | Practical evaluation question |
|---|---|---|
| Apollo | Contact CSV export can be restricted to verified emails; existing records need enrichment before export | Which verification statuses, fields and export charges apply to your selected records? |
| ZoomInfo | Its corporate site lists contact/company search, buyer intent and CRM enrichment | Which modules and export rights are included in the proposed contract? |
| Cognism | Its documentation describes manual mobile-number validation and separate prospecting/enrichment packages | Are the particular phone records you need validated, and what credits and integrations are included? |
Apollo: Check Status and Export Credits
Apollo’s export guide documents a People search, record selection and Export workflow. It allows choosing all selected contacts or only those with verified emails. Existing records are not automatically enriched during CSV export, and export-credit treatment depends on the plan and record origin.
Keep the exported status fields alongside the email addresses. A provider’s verified label is useful context but does not guarantee delivery at a later date. Confirm the current limits in your account instead of relying on a historical free-credit allowance.
ZoomInfo: Verify the Proposed Package
ZoomInfo’s corporate overview links to company/contact search, buyer intent and CRM enrichment. These capabilities may answer different needs: finding contacts, selecting accounts or updating existing CRM records.
Request a demonstration using your own target-account criteria and a written list of included modules, integrations and exports. This review did not independently verify current entry pricing or comparative regional coverage, so neither is presented as a fact here.
Cognism: Distinguish Phone Validation from Email Quality
Cognism’s data documentation describes researchers manually checking mobile numbers for its Diamond Data asset. That process concerns specific phone records; it does not verify every email address or establish outreach consent.
Its pricing page describes packages and contact credits. Confirm which fields, on-demand verification, enrichment and export access your quote includes. Use the same regional sample as the other platforms rather than assuming one is strongest in a country.
Compare Results Fairly
Use the same target-account list and evaluation date. For each tool, measure missing records, role/company mismatches, email verification status, phone match results, export costs and the effort needed to map records into your CRM. A high match rate can coexist with inaccurate fields, so report coverage and correctness separately.
Have the responsible privacy reviewer assess sourcing, opt-outs and the planned use. Vendor certifications or Do Not Call screening are not permission to send every email or place every call.
Using the Exports
Retain original records for status and context, then upload copies to Email Extractor for an address-only union. CSV with sources lists the source names associated with each extracted address, allowing overlap to be inspected. Deduplication counts email strings rather than people and does not measure engagement or validate mailboxes.
