Why Extract from ClickUp Automations?
ClickUp uses automations to assign tasks, change statuses, move tasks between lists, send notifications, update custom fields and trigger actions based on conditions. Tasks processed by these automations may contain contact email addresses in custom fields, descriptions or comments.
While the general ClickUp export is covered in Extract Emails from ClickUp Tasks, this article focuses on extracting emails from tasks affected by specific automations.
How to Export from ClickUp
Filtering tasks by automation criteria
- Log in to ClickUp.
- Go to a Space, Folder or List.
- Use filters to narrow tasks by status, assignee, tag, custom field or date (matching the conditions your automations use).
- Click Export to download as CSV.
Using task tags
- Configure automations to add a tag when they fire (e.
- Filter tasks by that tag.
- Export the filtered tasks as CSV.
Using custom fields
- Create a custom field for email addresses in your ClickUp tasks.
- Configure automations to update this field or move tasks with email data.
- Filter by the custom field.
- Export as CSV.
Using the ClickUp API
- Use the
/taskendpoint with filters for tags, statuses or custom fields. - Each task includes custom field values.
- Save results as JSON.
How to Extract the Email Addresses
- Go to bulkemailextractor.com.
- Select "Text and files."
- Upload the CSV file from ClickUp. Up to 25 MB per file, 100 MB per batch.
- Click "Extract emails."
- Review the results. Duplicates are removed automatically.
- Download as TXT for a plain list, CSV for a single-column spreadsheet, or CSV with sources.

Things to Know
Contact data is not preserved
Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Task names, descriptions, statuses, tags and other ClickUp fields are not carried over.
Email storage in ClickUp
ClickUp is a project management tool, not a CRM. Email addresses may be stored in custom fields, task descriptions or comments. The export format varies.
Team member emails
Task exports may include team member email addresses (assignees, watchers). Review the extracted list and remove internal email addresses if you only want external contacts.
