How to extract email addresses from text and files
On this page
Turn text or supported documents into a reviewable email list, then download the results you need.
Start with the information you can access
Choose Text and files, paste text or upload documents, then select Extract emails. Files and pasted text are processed in your browser. A file can be up to 25 MB; the combined batch can be up to 100 MB.
Supported formats include text, CSV, TSV, HTML, XML, JSON, Markdown, logs, VCF, DOCX, Excel workbooks, ODS, PDF, MSG and EML. A format being supported does not mean every file can be read: damaged documents, password protection and scanned PDFs can prevent extraction. Scanned PDFs need text recognition first, and EML attachments are not read.
Review before you export
Results are matches found in the material you supplied. They are not proof that a mailbox exists or that its owner has agreed to receive messages. Search the list to find a particular address. Domain filters can include or exclude selected domains; sorting changes their display order.
Duplicate addresses are combined, and source details help you see where a match came from. Select a source badge to inspect all the sources for an address found in multiple files. Keep the original files if you need to verify the surrounding context.
Use the right output
Copy uses the displayed addresses. Download TXT gives a simple list; Download CSV is suitable for a spreadsheet; CSV with sources preserves provenance. Copy for Outlook uses semicolon separators. Search and filters affect the exported list, so reset them when you want the complete results.
History keeps the latest 30 result lists in this browser. Original files are not saved there. Use History to restore a list, or delete saved lists when they are no longer needed.
