How to Extract Emails from Hunter.io Leads

Why Extract from Hunter.io?
Hunter.io is an email finding and verification platform. Its core feature is domain search: enter a company domain and Hunter.io returns email addresses associated with that domain along with names, job titles and the sources where each address was found. Hunter.io also offers individual email finder, email verifier, bulk tasks and outreach campaigns.
Hunter.io stores found emails and leads in your account. Extracting email addresses from Hunter.io data is useful for importing into a CRM that is not integrated, consolidating leads from multiple finding tools, deduplicating against other prospect sources, verifying addresses externally or creating a master list.
How to Export from Hunter.io
Exporting domain search results
- Log in to Hunter.io.
- Run a Domain Search for a company domain.
- The results show email addresses found for that domain.
- Click Export to download the results as a CSV file.
- The CSV includes email, first name, last name, position, department, LinkedIn URL, confidence score and sources.
Exporting from leads
- Go to Leads in your dashboard.
- Leads are email addresses you have saved from domain searches, email finder results or manual additions.
- Select the leads you want to export.
- Click Export to download as a CSV file.
Exporting bulk task results
- Go to Bulk tasks.
- If you ran a bulk domain search or bulk email finder, the results are stored there.
- Download the results as a CSV file.
Exporting from campaigns
- Go to Campaigns.
- Open a campaign.
- Export the recipients from that campaign.
How to Extract the Email Addresses
- Go to bulkemailextractor.com.
- Select "Text and files."
- Upload the CSV file(s) exported from Hunter.io. Up to 25 MB per file, 100 MB per batch.
- Click "Extract emails."
- Review the results. Duplicates are removed automatically.
- Download as TXT for a plain list, CSV for a single-column spreadsheet, or CSV with sources.
Working with the Results
Import into a CRM
The extracted list can be imported into HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive or another CRM. Hunter.io integrates with some CRMs, but extraction is useful for CRMs without direct integration.
Deduplicate across email finding tools
If you find emails using multiple tools (Hunter.io, Snov.io, Apollo.io, Lusha, RocketReach), upload all exports together. Deduplication reveals how many unique addresses you have found across all sources.
Combine domain searches
If you have searched many company domains over time, export all saved leads and upload together. Email Extractor deduplicates the combined list.
Verify addresses
Hunter.io includes email verification. However, if you exported leads that were found but not verified, or if verification results have become outdated, run the extracted list through a verification service. See Best email verification services.
Things to Know
Contact data is not preserved
Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Names, job titles, departments, LinkedIn URLs, confidence scores, sources and other data from the Hunter.io export are not carried over.
Confidence scores
Hunter.io assigns a confidence score to each found email address, indicating how likely the address is valid. The export includes this score. Email Extractor does not filter by confidence. Filter the CSV before uploading if you want only high-confidence addresses.
Email patterns
Hunter.io identifies email patterns used by companies (such as firstname.lastname@company.com). Found emails may be derived from these patterns. Pattern-based emails have varying confidence levels.
Credit system
Hunter.io uses a credit system. Searches, finds and verifications consume credits. Exporting saved leads does not typically consume additional credits.
Sources
For each email address found, Hunter.io shows the public sources where that address appeared. This source data helps assess whether an address is publicly available.
Campaigns
Hunter.io offers basic cold email campaign functionality. Campaign recipients have engagement data (opens, clicks, replies) that is included in campaign exports.
API access
Hunter.io provides an API for programmatic access to domain search, email finder and email verifier. API results can be saved to leads and exported the same way.
Browser extension
Hunter.io's browser extension finds email addresses while browsing any website or LinkedIn profile. Found emails can be saved to leads and exported from the dashboard.
