Best Chrome Extensions for Email Extraction in 2026

What Email Extraction Extensions Do
Email extraction browser extensions scan web pages you visit and pull out email addresses from the page content. They work directly in your browser, typically adding a toolbar button or sidebar that shows found addresses on the current page.
This is different from email finder extensions (like Hunter, Lusha or Apollo), which look up email addresses that are not on the page, using external databases. Extraction extensions read addresses from accessible page content or email links; the exact coverage depends on the extension.
Types of Extensions
| Type | What it does | Example use case |
|---|---|---|
| Page content extractor | Scans the current page for email addresses in the HTML | Extract emails from a company's team page |
| Multi-page extractor | Scans multiple pages on the same site | Extract emails from a paginated directory |
| LinkedIn overlay | Adds contact data to LinkedIn profiles from external databases | Find a prospect's email from their LinkedIn profile |
| Full-page data scraper | Extracts structured data (not just emails) from pages | Scrape a directory into a spreadsheet |
This guide focuses on the first two categories: extensions that extract email addresses from page content.
Email Extractor Browser Extension
This section was checked against the bundled extension implementation on 8 October 2026. Third-party facts linked below were checked in official documentation; this is not a hands-on comparison of every listed product.
Publisher: Open Scout Media (bulkemailextractor.com) Browsers: Chrome, Edge (manual install) Pricing: Free Privacy: Extraction happens locally in the browser
The Email Extractor browser extension extends the same extraction engine used on the main site to work across web pages as you browse.
Key features:
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Single page extraction | Scan the current page for email addresses |
| Multi-page extraction | Choose up to 25 pages on the same origin, including the current page |
| Deduplication | Case-insensitive duplicate removal across all scanned pages |
| Export formats | TXT and JSON with sources; import the JSON into the main extractor for CSV |
| Processing location | In the browser (pages are not sent to a server) |
| Account required | No |
How it works:
- Open the page and let its content load; complete any sign-in yourself.
- Open the extension, choose Page emails and click Read this page. Opening the extension alone does not start reading.
- Review the saved addresses and reading details.
- For additional pages, choose Choose website pages and tick the available links you want to read.
- Download TXT or choose Download with sources for JSON. A search filters the downloaded results.
Import that JSON into the main extractor through Webpages > Import browser capture to use its CSV export. See the extension guide for selection, scrolling and saved-list behavior.
Limitations:
- Manual install process (not auto-installed from the Chrome Web Store).
- Multi-page extraction is limited to 25 pages per batch.
- Linked pages must share the current page’s origin (scheme, hostname and port).
- The current-page reader can read already loaded content and optionally scroll for more. It does not click buttons or bypass access controls. Linked-page downloads do not execute their scripts, so content available only after JavaScript or interaction may be missed.

Choosing the Right Extension
For extracting emails from web pages
If your goal is to pull email addresses from pages you are viewing (directories, team pages, conference sites), choose an extension that focuses on page content extraction rather than database lookup:
- Email Extractor (bulkemailextractor.com) for free, local-processing extraction with multi-page support.
- CloudHQ Email Extractor if you also want to extract from Gmail conversations.
For finding emails not on the page
If your goal is to discover email addresses for people or companies when the address is not visible on the page, choose a finder tool:
- Hunter.io for domain-based email pattern discovery.
- Snov.io for combined finding and outreach.
- AeroLeads for a hybrid of extraction and finding.
For LinkedIn prospecting
If your primary workflow is finding contact data from LinkedIn profiles:
- Lusha, Kaspr or Apollo.io extensions are purpose-built for LinkedIn overlay.
See Skrapp vs Lusha vs Kaspr for a detailed comparison.
Privacy Considerations
How extensions handle the pages you visit matters:
| Processing model | How it works | Privacy implication |
|---|---|---|
| Local/client-side | Extension processes page content in your browser | Page content is not sent to external servers |
| Cloud/server-side | Extension sends page content or URLs to a server for processing | Third party sees the pages you visit and their content |
| Hybrid | Some processing local, some server-side | Varies by feature |
Local processing is preferable when working with sensitive or internal pages (intranets, CRM pages, customer data). Cloud processing may offer more features (verification, enrichment) but sends your browsing data to the extension provider.
Check each extension's privacy policy before installing. Chrome extensions can request broad permissions (access to all websites, read browsing history). Only install extensions from publishers you trust, and review requested permissions carefully.
Combining Extensions with Email Extractor
For comprehensive email collection:
- Use a Chrome extension to extract emails from web pages you visit.
- Download files (PDFs, spreadsheets, documents) that contain email addresses.
- Upload those files to Email Extractor for extraction.
- Upload exports from multiple extensions and sources to Email Extractor to deduplicate across all sources.
- Download the consolidated, deduplicated list.
This workflow ensures you capture emails from both live web pages (via extension) and downloaded documents (via the main tool), with deduplication across everything.
