How the Email Extractor Browser Extension Works
On this page
Read emails from a page you choose
The Email Extractor extension finds email addresses in readable webpage content and email links. Use it for pages you can open in Chrome or Edge. Results are saved in the extension on this device, so the source website can be closed after reading finishes.
For files, pasted text and public URL loading, use the main extractor. The extension and website have separate saved lists.
Install the extension
- Open the installation guide and download the extension ZIP.
- Unzip it into a folder you will keep on your computer.
- Open
chrome://extensionsoredge://extensions. - Enable Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, and select the folder containing
manifest.json. - Pin Email Extractor from the browser's Extensions menu.
Do not drag the ZIP into the browser. Follow the installation guide for screenshots and updates.
Read the current page
- Open the website and let its content load. Complete any sign-in or verification yourself.
- Open the extension and choose Page emails.
- Click Read this page. Opening the extension alone does not start a scan.
- Review the count, reading details and saved emails before exporting.
To read a selection, highlight text on the webpage first, then enable Read only selected text. Scan more loaded content scrolls to check more content for up to 20 seconds. It does not click buttons or open other pages.
Use Open reader window for longer work. Keep the popup or reader open until reading finishes. Closing it stops unfinished work.
Choose other pages on the website
Choose Choose website pages, find the available pages, then tick the pages you want to read. The limit is 25 pages in total, including the current page.
Linked pages are downloaded without opening them. Content that appears only after an interaction may be missed. This is a page selection workflow, not a guarantee of complete website coverage.
Review, copy and download
The result summary shows what was found and saved. Reading details explain skipped pages and partial coverage. A zero-result message means no addresses were found in the content the extension could read.
Search the saved list, then copy or download the matching results. Clear search to export the complete saved list. TXT contains addresses; CSV and Download with sources provide additional source information. The source website does not need to remain open to use saved results.
To bring results into the main app, download the JSON using Download with sources, open Webpages and choose Import browser capture. See the webpage guide for import restrictions and recovery steps.
Limits and privacy
The extension cannot bypass access controls or read content a website keeps inaccessible. Images without readable text, unloaded content and restricted exports may produce incomplete results. Extraction does not verify mailbox existence or permission to contact someone.
Saved emails stay in this browser on this device until you delete them. Browser storage is not a backup. Page and export requests go to the website being read and may use your signed-in session. See the Privacy notice for the complete data-handling description.
