How to Extract Emails from Clearbit Data
On this page
Export and import options vary by plan, permissions and product version. Check the platform’s current help documentation if a menu or format differs. Use only contact data you are authorized to process; an extracted address is not proof of marketing consent.
Why Extract from Clearbit?
Clearbit (now part of HubSpot) is a B2B data enrichment and intelligence platform. It enriches leads, contacts and companies with firmographic and demographic data. Clearbit offers real-time enrichment (adding data to form submissions and CRM records automatically), prospecting (finding contacts at target companies), website visitor identification (revealing which companies visit your website) and integrations with CRMs and marketing tools.
Clearbit stores and processes enriched data that includes email addresses. Extracting email addresses from Clearbit data exports is useful for consolidating enriched contacts, deduplicating against other data sources, importing into tools not directly integrated with Clearbit or creating a clean list for outreach.
How to Export from Clearbit
Exporting prospector results
- Log in to Clearbit.
- Use the Prospector tool to find contacts at target companies.
- Filter by role, seniority, department and other criteria.
- Export the results as a CSV file.
- The CSV includes email, name, title, company, industry, employee count and other enriched fields.
Exporting enriched data
If Clearbit enriched your CRM contacts or form submissions, the enriched data is stored in your CRM. Export from the CRM to get the Clearbit-enriched records.
Exporting from Reveal (website visitor identification)
Clearbit Reveal identifies companies visiting your website. While Reveal provides company-level data (not individual contacts), you can use Prospector to find contacts at those companies and export the results.
How to Extract the Email Addresses
- Go to bulkemailextractor.com.
- Select "Text and files."
- Upload the CSV file(s) exported from Clearbit or your CRM with Clearbit-enriched data. Up to 25 MB per file, 100 MB per batch.
- Click "Extract emails."
- Review the results. Duplicates are removed automatically.
- Download as TXT for a plain list, CSV for a single-column spreadsheet, or CSV with sources.
Working with the Results
Consolidate enriched and non-enriched contacts
If some of your contacts were enriched by Clearbit and others were not, extracting all contacts gives you a unified list regardless of enrichment status.
Deduplicate across data sources
If you use Clearbit alongside other data providers (ZoomInfo, Lusha, Apollo.io), upload all exports together. Deduplication creates a combined list of unique email addresses. Download CSV with sources and compare the source names to find addresses shared by the exports. Use the original records for person matching or status checks; the comparison only establishes that the same email string appears in multiple sources.
Import into non-integrated tools
The extracted list can be imported into outreach platforms, email marketing tools or analytics tools that Clearbit does not connect to directly.
Verify addresses
Clearbit enrichment data is generally current, but email addresses can become outdated. Running the extracted list through a verification service before outreach is recommended. See Best email verification services.
Things to Know
Contact data is not preserved
Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Names, titles, companies, firmographic data (industry, employee count, revenue), technographic data and other enriched fields from the Clearbit export are not carried over.
HubSpot acquisition
Clearbit was acquired by HubSpot. The enrichment capabilities are being integrated into HubSpot's platform. If you use HubSpot, Clearbit enrichment may be available natively within your HubSpot account.
Enrichment vs prospecting
Clearbit serves two main functions. Enrichment adds data to existing contacts (filling in company, title and other fields for leads who filled in a form with just their email). Prospecting finds new contacts at target companies. Both produce data that can be exported.
Real-time enrichment
Clearbit can enrich form submissions in real time, adding company and role data as soon as a lead submits their email. This enriched data is typically stored in the connected CRM or marketing platform.
Website visitor identification
Clearbit Reveal identifies which companies visit your website using reverse IP lookup. It provides company-level data, not individual email addresses. Use Prospector to find contacts at identified companies.
API-first approach
Clearbit is heavily API-oriented. Many customers use the API to enrich data programmatically. API results can be downloaded and processed like manual exports.
Data quality
Clearbit maintains high data quality through automated verification and regular updates. However, B2B data changes frequently as people change roles.
