How to Extract Emails from HighLevel Contacts

On this page

Export and import options vary by plan, permissions and product version. Check the platform’s current help documentation if a menu or format differs. Use only contact data you are authorized to process; an extracted address is not proof of marketing consent.

Why Extract from HighLevel?

HighLevel (GoHighLevel) is an all-in-one marketing and CRM platform built for agencies and businesses. It provides CRM, email marketing, SMS marketing, landing pages, funnels, forms, surveys, calendars, pipelines, automations, reputation management, website builder, membership sites and white-labeling. HighLevel stores all contacts, leads and customers in one system.

While the general GoHighLevel export process is covered in the import guide, this article focuses on extracting email addresses from HighLevel contact data for use outside the platform.

How to Export from HighLevel

Exporting contacts from a sub-account

  1. Log in to your HighLevel sub-account.
  2. Go to Contacts.
  3. Apply filters (by tag, smart list, pipeline stage, date, etc.).
  4. Click Export to download a CSV file.
  5. The CSV includes email, name, phone, tags, source, pipeline stage and other contact fields.

Exporting from smart lists

  1. Go to Contacts then Smart Lists.
  2. Select a smart list.
  3. Export the filtered contacts as CSV.

Exporting from pipelines

  1. Go to Opportunities or Pipelines.
  2. Filter by pipeline and stage.
  3. Export as CSV.

Agency-level exports

Agency accounts manage multiple sub-accounts. Contact exports are done at the sub-account level, not across the entire agency.

How to Extract the Email Addresses

  1. Go to bulkemailextractor.com.
  2. Select "Text and files."
  3. Upload the CSV file exported from HighLevel. Up to 25 MB per file, 100 MB per batch.
  4. Click "Extract emails."
  5. Review the results. Duplicates are removed automatically.
  6. Download as TXT for a plain list, CSV for a single-column spreadsheet, or CSV with sources.

Working with the Results

Import into another platform

If a client or team uses a different email marketing platform or CRM, import the extracted list into that system.

Consolidate across sub-accounts

If you manage multiple sub-accounts (for different clients or business units), export contacts from each and upload together. Deduplication shows total unique email addresses.

This counts distinct email strings using case-insensitive matching, not distinct people. One person may have multiple addresses, and shared addresses may represent several people.

Migrate to another CRM

If switching from HighLevel to another platform, extract contacts to import into the new system.

Verify addresses

Contacts collected from multiple sources (forms, ads, manual entry) may include invalid addresses. Verification before campaigns is recommended. See Best email verification services.

Things to Know

Contact data is not preserved

Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Names, phone numbers, tags, pipeline stages, sources, custom fields and other HighLevel data are not carried over.

DND (Do Not Disturb) contacts

HighLevel has a DND status for contacts. Contacts marked as DND will not receive communications in HighLevel. The export may include these contacts.

Source tracking

HighLevel tracks where each contact came from (Facebook Ads, Google Ads, form, manual, etc.). Filter by source before exporting for source-specific lists.

Duplicate contacts

HighLevel can accumulate duplicate contacts from different sources. The export may include duplicates, which Email Extractor will deduplicate.
