How to Extract Emails from LinkedIn Recruiter Exports
On this page
Export and import options vary by plan, permissions and product version. Check the platform’s current help documentation if a menu or format differs. Use only contact data you are authorized to process; an extracted address is not proof of marketing consent.
Why Extract from LinkedIn Recruiter?
LinkedIn Recruiter is a premium hiring tool that provides advanced candidate search, InMail messaging, project management, pipeline tracking, team collaboration and reporting. Recruiters use it to find, contact and manage candidates for open positions. When candidates respond to InMail or share their contact information, email addresses may be captured in the platform.
Extracting email addresses from LinkedIn Recruiter data is useful for consolidating candidate contacts in an ATS, building talent pools outside of LinkedIn, data backup or creating contact lists for recruiting CRM tools.
How to Export from LinkedIn Recruiter
Exporting projects
- Log in to LinkedIn Recruiter.
- Go to a Project (pipeline).
- Select candidates in the project.
- Click Export or Download.
- Choose CSV or Excel format.
- The export may include name, title, company, location and email (if the candidate has shared it).
ATS integration exports
- If LinkedIn Recruiter is integrated with an ATS (Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, etc.), candidate data including email addresses flows into the ATS automatically.
- Export from the ATS for a more complete dataset.
LinkedIn data download
- LinkedIn allows users to download their own data. As a recruiter, your personal LinkedIn data download includes your connections' email addresses (if shared) and InMail history.
How to Extract the Email Addresses
- Go to bulkemailextractor.com.
- Select "Text and files."
- Upload the CSV or XLSX file exported from LinkedIn Recruiter. Up to 25 MB per file, 100 MB per batch.
- Click "Extract emails."
- Review the results. Duplicates are removed automatically.
- Download as TXT for a plain list, CSV for a single-column spreadsheet, or CSV with sources.
Working with the Results
Import into an ATS
If your ATS is not integrated with LinkedIn Recruiter, import the extracted list into Greenhouse, Lever, Workable or another ATS to maintain a unified candidate database.
Build a talent pool
Import extracted emails into a recruiting CRM or email platform for talent community newsletters, job alerts and engagement campaigns (with consent).
Consolidate sourcing data
Upload LinkedIn Recruiter exports alongside exports from other sourcing tools, job boards and your ATS. Deduplication shows your total unique candidate pool.
Verify addresses
Email addresses from LinkedIn profiles may be outdated if candidates have changed jobs or email providers. Verification before outreach is recommended. See Best email verification services.
Things to Know
Contact data is not preserved
Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Names, titles, companies, locations and other fields from the LinkedIn export are not carried over.
Email availability
Not all LinkedIn profiles include an email address. Candidates share their email at their discretion. Many profiles in Recruiter exports will not have an email.
LinkedIn's terms of service
LinkedIn's terms restrict scraping and automated data collection. Only use data that candidates have voluntarily shared through the platform's built-in export features.
InMail conversations
InMail messages may contain email addresses if candidates share them in their responses. These may appear in message history exports.
LinkedIn Sales Navigator
LinkedIn Sales Navigator is a separate product for sales professionals. For Sales Navigator exports, see Extract Emails from LinkedIn Sales Navigator Export.
Candidate consent
Email addresses obtained from LinkedIn were shared in a professional context. Using them for marketing or non-recruiting purposes requires additional consent.
