How to Extract Emails from Workable Candidates
On this page
Export and import options vary by plan, permissions and product version. Check the platform’s current help documentation if a menu or format differs. Use only contact data you are authorized to process; an extracted address is not proof of marketing consent.
Why Extract from Workable?
Workable is a recruiting and applicant tracking platform. It provides job posting, candidate sourcing, application management, interview scheduling, assessments, offer management, reporting and integrations. Workable stores candidate email addresses collected during the application and sourcing process.
Extracting email addresses from Workable data is useful for building talent pools, migrating to another ATS, consolidating recruiting contacts across tools, creating re-engagement campaigns for past candidates (with consent) or creating a backup.

Working with the Results
Build a talent community
Import extracted emails into a CRM or email marketing platform to maintain relationships with past candidates. Send job alerts, company news and industry insights (with explicit consent).
Data migration
When switching from Workable to another ATS, extracting candidate emails ensures you retain your full candidate database.
Consolidate sourcing data
If your team sources candidates from multiple channels (job boards, LinkedIn, referrals, sourcing tools), upload exports from all sources alongside Workable data. Deduplication shows your total unique candidate count.
Verify addresses
Candidate emails may become outdated over time. Verification before re-engagement campaigns is recommended. See Best email verification services.
Things to Know
Contact data is not preserved
Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Names, jobs applied for, stages, sources, assessments and other fields from the Workable export are not carried over.
Candidate consent
Candidate data was collected for recruiting purposes. Using it for other purposes (newsletters, marketing) requires explicit consent depending on your jurisdiction.
GDPR compliance
Workable provides GDPR tools including consent management, data retention policies and data export/deletion capabilities. Ensure your use of exported data complies with applicable regulations.
Sourced vs applied candidates
Workable stores both candidates who applied and candidates who were sourced (found and added by recruiters). Both types have email addresses in exports.
Disqualified candidates
Disqualified or rejected candidates remain in the database. Their emails appear in exports. Consider whether outreach to these candidates is appropriate.
Workable AI Recruiter
Workable's AI sourcing features find and suggest candidates. Sourced candidates' email addresses are stored in the system and appear in exports.
