How to Import Extracted Emails into Folk CRM

On this page

Export and import options vary by plan, permissions and product version. Check the platform’s current help documentation if a menu or format differs. Use only contact data you are authorized to process; an extracted address is not proof of marketing consent.

Why Import into Folk CRM?

Folk is a lightweight CRM for managing relationships and outreach. It provides contact management, pipeline views, email sequences, contact enrichment, a browser extension, mail merge, custom fields and integrations. Folk is popular among startups, investors, agencies and teams that manage relationship-driven workflows.

After extracting email addresses with Email Extractor, you can import them into Folk to create contacts, organise them into groups or pipelines, enrich their profiles and send outreach sequences.

Preparing the File

Email Extractor gives you three download formats:

TXT file. One email per line.

CSV file. One column of email addresses. Works well for Folk import.

CSV with sources. Two columns: email and source file. Map only the email column during import.

For Folk, CSV is the recommended format.

How to Import

  1. Log in to Folk.
  2. Open the group or pipeline where you want to import contacts.
  3. Click Import and select CSV.
  4. Upload the CSV file.
  5. Map the email column to the Email field.
  6. Choose how to handle duplicates.
  7. Review and start the import.
  8. Folk creates contacts and begins enrichment.

After Import

Contact enrichment

Folk can enrich imported contacts with data from public sources, filling in names, companies, job titles and social profiles based on the email address.

Organise into groups

Folk uses groups to organise contacts by project, campaign or category. Add imported contacts to the relevant group.

Send email sequences

Folk includes email sequences for automated follow-up. Create a sequence and add imported contacts to send personalised outreach.

Pipeline tracking

Create pipeline views to track imported contacts through deal stages, hiring stages or other workflows.

Browser extension

Folk's browser extension (folkX) lets you add contacts from LinkedIn, Twitter/X and websites directly into Folk. Imported contacts can be enriched and matched with social profiles.

Verify addresses

Consider verifying the extracted list before importing or before starting email sequences. See Best email verification services.

Things to Know

Contact data is not preserved

Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Names, companies and other fields will be blank until enrichment runs or you add them manually.

Enrichment credits

Folk's enrichment feature may use credits. Check your plan for enrichment limits.

Email sequence limits

Folk's email sequences are sent from your connected email account. Sending limits depend on your email provider.

Deduplication

Folk deduplicates contacts based on email address. If an imported email matches an existing contact, the duplicate is flagged.

Contact limits

Check your Folk plan for contact limits before importing a large list.

Email Extractor does not establish consent

Extracting email addresses does not create permission to send outreach emails. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
