How to Import Extracted Emails into Nimble CRM

On this page

Export and import options vary by plan, permissions and product version. Check the platform’s current help documentation if a menu or format differs. Use only contact data you are authorized to process; an extracted address is not proof of marketing consent.

Why Import into Nimble CRM?

Nimble is a social CRM that combines contact management with social media intelligence. It provides contact enrichment, deal pipelines, email tracking, group messaging, activity tracking, a browser extension (Prospector) and integrations with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, social media platforms and over 100 other tools. Nimble automatically enriches contacts with social media profiles and business data.

After extracting email addresses with Email Extractor, you can import them into Nimble to create contact records, take advantage of automatic enrichment, track them through your sales pipeline and manage relationships.

Preparing the File

Email Extractor gives you three download formats:

TXT file. One email per line.

CSV file. One column of email addresses. Works well for Nimble import.

CSV with sources. Two columns: email and source file. Map only the email column during import.

For Nimble, CSV is the recommended format.

How to Import

  1. Log in to Nimble.
  2. Go to Contacts.
  3. Click Import then Import CSV.
  4. Upload the CSV file.
  5. Map the email column to the Email field in Nimble.
  6. Choose how to handle duplicates (skip or merge).
  7. Optionally apply a tag to all imported contacts.
  8. Review and start the import.
  9. Nimble processes the file, creates contacts and begins automatic enrichment.

After Import

Automatic enrichment

Nimble automatically attempts to enrich imported contacts with data from social media profiles, company information and public data sources. This can fill in names, job titles, companies and social profiles based on the email address alone.

Tag and segment

Apply tags to imported contacts for filtering and grouping. Nimble supports saved searches for creating contact segments.

Add to a pipeline

Create deals for imported contacts and track them through pipeline stages.

Group messaging

Send group emails to imported contacts directly from Nimble. Nimble tracks opens and clicks.

Prospector extension

Install the Nimble Prospector browser extension to see enriched contact data from any website, LinkedIn profile or email.

Verify addresses

Consider verifying the extracted list before importing. See Best email verification services.

Things to Know

Automatic enrichment limitations

Nimble's enrichment works best with business email addresses. Personal email addresses (Gmail, Yahoo) may not enrich as well because they cannot be matched to company data.

Contact limits

Nimble plans have contact limits. Check your plan's allowance before importing a large list.

People and companies

Nimble organises records into people and companies. Imported email addresses create people records. Companies can be created automatically through enrichment.

Social media matching

Nimble matches contacts to social media profiles (LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Facebook). This matching is based on the email address and other available data.

Group messaging limits

Nimble's group messaging has daily sending limits. These limits depend on your plan and email provider.

Duplicate handling

Nimble checks for duplicate email addresses during import. Existing contacts with matching emails can be skipped or merged.

Email Extractor does not establish consent

Extracting email addresses does not create permission to send marketing emails. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
