How to Extract Emails from Luma Event Registrants

On this page

Export and import options vary by plan, permissions and product version. Check the platform’s current help documentation if a menu or format differs. Use only contact data you are authorized to process; an extracted address is not proof of marketing consent.

Why Extract from Luma?

Luma (lu.ma) is an event management platform for creating, hosting and managing in-person and virtual events. It provides event pages, registration, ticketing, check-in, calendar integration, email reminders, community features and analytics. Luma is popular with tech communities, startups, creator groups and professional meetups.

Extracting email addresses from Luma event data is useful for importing into a CRM or email marketing platform, following up with attendees, building an event community mailing list, consolidating contacts from multiple events or creating a backup.

How to Export from Luma

Exporting event guests

  1. Log in to Luma.
  2. Go to your event.
  3. Open the Guests or Registrants tab.
  4. Click Export to download a CSV file.
  5. The CSV includes email, name, registration date, ticket type and check-in status.

Exporting from multiple events

  1. Export guests from each event separately.
  2. Upload all files together to Email Extractor for deduplication.

Using the Luma calendar

If you manage a Luma calendar (event series), you may be able to export registrants across all events in the series.

How to Extract the Email Addresses

  1. Go to bulkemailextractor.com.
  2. Select "Text and files."
  3. Upload the CSV file exported from Luma. Up to 25 MB per file, 100 MB per batch.
  4. Click "Extract emails."
  5. Review the results. Duplicates are removed automatically.
  6. Download as TXT for a plain list, CSV for a single-column spreadsheet, or CSV with sources.

Working with the Results

Follow up with attendees

Import attended contacts into a CRM or email marketing platform for post-event follow-ups, resource sharing and invitations to future events.

Build a community mailing list

If you host recurring events, extract and consolidate registrants from all events. This builds a community mailing list for announcements and new event promotions.

Re-engage no-shows

Compare registered and attended contacts. Send no-shows a recording link (for virtual events) or an invitation to the next event.

Verify addresses

Registration email addresses are provided by registrants and are usually valid. See Best email verification services.

Things to Know

Contact data is not preserved

Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Names, ticket types, check-in statuses, registration dates and other data are not carried over.

Free vs paid events

Luma supports both free and paid events. Guest exports work the same way for both.

Virtual vs in-person

Luma handles both virtual and in-person events. The export format is the same regardless of event type.

Waitlisted guests

Luma supports waitlists. Depending on the export, waitlisted guests may or may not be included. Check your export settings.

Luma email features

Luma includes basic email features for event communication. For advanced email marketing, import contacts into a dedicated platform.

Calendar subscribers

Luma calendars allow people to subscribe to future events. Calendar subscribers may be separate from individual event registrants.
