How to Extract Emails from Olark Conversations

Why Extract from Olark Conversations?

Olark is a live chat platform for sales and support. Conversations contain visitor email addresses collected through pre-chat surveys, in-chat messages and offline messages. Each conversation includes the visitor's name, email, location, browser details and the full chat transcript.

While the general Olark contact export is covered in Extract Emails from Olark Contacts, this article focuses on conversation-level exports, which capture email addresses from individual chat interactions.

How to Export from Olark

Exporting transcripts

  1. Log in to Olark.
  2. Go to Transcripts.
  3. Use filters to narrow by date range, operator, tag or visitor details.
  4. Click Export to download as CSV.
  5. The export includes visitor email addresses when provided.

Filtering by tag

  1. Go to Transcripts.
  2. Filter by a specific tag (e.
  3. Export the filtered transcripts.

Using email-based search

  1. Go to Transcripts.
  2. Search for specific email domains or patterns.
  3. Export matching conversations.

Using the Olark API

  1. Use the REST API to retrieve transcript data.
  2. Filter by date, operator or visitor email.
  3. Each transcript includes visitor details.
  4. Save results as JSON.

Exporting via CRM integrations

Olark integrates with HubSpot, Salesforce, Slack, Zendesk and other tools. If configured, chat data flows to connected platforms. Export from there for conversation-specific lists.

How to Extract the Email Addresses

  1. Go to bulkemailextractor.com.
  2. Select "Text and files."
  3. Upload the CSV file from Olark. Up to 25 MB per file, 100 MB per batch.
  4. Click "Extract emails."
  5. Review the results. Duplicates are removed automatically.
  6. Download as TXT for a plain list, CSV for a single-column spreadsheet, or CSV with sources.

Verify addresses

Things to Know

Contact data is not preserved

Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Names, chat transcripts, tags, locations and other Olark fields are not carried over.

Not all visitors provide email

Visitors who skip the pre-chat survey or chat anonymously will not have email addresses in the export.

Operator emails

Transcript exports may include operator email addresses alongside visitor emails. Review the extracted list and remove internal email addresses.
