How to Extract Emails from Squarespace Form Submissions
On this page
Export and import options vary by plan, permissions and product version. Check the platform’s current help documentation if a menu or format differs. Use only contact data you are authorized to process; an extracted address is not proof of marketing consent.
Why Extract from Squarespace Forms?
Squarespace is a website builder that includes built-in form blocks for contact forms, newsletter signups, inquiry forms and custom forms. Every form submission that includes an email field captures the visitor's email address.
While the general Squarespace order export is covered in Extract Emails from Squarespace Orders, this article focuses on form submissions, which capture leads, inquiries and signups separately from ecommerce orders.
How to Export from Squarespace
Exporting form submissions
- Log in to your Squarespace account.
- Go to your site's dashboard.
- Navigate to the page containing the form block.
- Click on the form block to open its settings.
- Go to the Storage tab (or the submissions view).
- Click Export to download submissions as CSV.
- The CSV includes all form fields: email, name, message and any custom fields.
From the Form & Button Data panel
- In the Squarespace dashboard, go to Analytics then Form & Button Conversions (if available on your plan).
- View submission data.
- Export as CSV.
Using email notifications
Squarespace sends email notifications for each form submission. If you have these stored in an email client:
- Export the notification emails as EML or MSG files (or copy the text into a TXT file).
- Upload to Email Extractor to extract the submitted email addresses.
Using connected storage
Squarespace forms can store submissions in Google Sheets, Mailchimp or Zapier. If configured:
- Open the connected Google Sheet or Mailchimp list.
- Export as CSV.
How to Extract the Email Addresses
- Go to bulkemailextractor.com.
- Select "Text and files."
- Upload the CSV file from Squarespace. Up to 25 MB per file, 100 MB per batch.
- Click "Extract emails."
- Review the results. Duplicates are removed automatically.
- Download as TXT for a plain list, CSV for a single-column spreadsheet, or CSV with sources.
Working with the Results
Build a lead list
Contact form submissions represent people who reached out. Import their emails into a CRM for follow-up and relationship tracking.
Newsletter signups
If you use a Squarespace form for newsletter signups, extract the emails and import into Mailchimp, Kit, Klaviyo or another email marketing platform.
Combine with order data
Upload form submission exports and order exports together. Deduplication creates a combined list of unique email addresses. Download CSV with sources and compare the source names to find addresses shared by the exports. Use the original transaction records to confirm purchases and match customers; unique addresses are not a count of unique people.
Segment by form
If you have multiple forms on your site (contact, quote request, newsletter, event registration), export each separately. Extract emails from each for targeted follow-up.
Verify addresses
Form submissions may include typos or fake email addresses. Verify the list before sending campaigns. See Best email verification services.
Things to Know
Contact data is not preserved
Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Names, messages, phone numbers, form names and other submission fields are not carried over.
Forms without email fields
Not all Squarespace forms include an email field. Forms without one produce no email addresses for extraction.
Spam submissions
Contact forms can attract spam submissions with fake or disposable email addresses. Consider filtering before extraction or verifying the list afterward.
Storage limitations
Squarespace stores a limited number of form submissions. Older submissions may be deleted. Export regularly to avoid losing data.
