How to Extract Emails from Thinkific Students

Why Extract from Thinkific?
Thinkific is an online course platform that lets creators build, market and sell courses, memberships, communities and digital products. It provides a course builder, student management, quizzes and surveys, completion certificates, payment processing, a website builder and integrations with marketing tools.
Thinkific stores student data including email addresses, enrolment details, progress and completion status. Extracting email addresses from Thinkific student data is useful for importing into a CRM, adding students to an email marketing platform for ongoing communication, consolidating contact data across tools or verifying addresses.
How to Export from Thinkific
Exporting users
- Log in to Thinkific.
- Go to Users in the admin dashboard.
- Apply any filters if needed (by course, date or status).
- Click Export users to download as CSV.
- The CSV includes email, name, enrolment details and sign-up date.
Exporting from a specific course
- Go to Manage Learning Content > Courses.
- Select a course.
- Go to the Students tab.
- Export the student list for that course.
This gives you only the students enrolled in a specific course rather than all users.
How to Extract the Email Addresses
- Go to bulkemailextractor.com.
- Select "Text and files."
- Upload the CSV file exported from Thinkific. Up to 25 MB per file, 100 MB per batch.
- Click "Extract emails."
- Review the results. Duplicates are removed automatically.
- Download as TXT for a plain list, CSV for a single-column spreadsheet, or CSV with sources.
Working with the Results
Import into an email marketing platform
Thinkific does not include a built-in email marketing system (unlike Kajabi). Most Thinkific users rely on a separate platform (Mailchimp, Kit, ActiveCampaign) for email campaigns. The extracted list can be imported into your email platform.
Import into a CRM
The extracted list can be imported into HubSpot, Salesforce or another CRM for managing relationships with students and leads.
Combine students from multiple courses
If you offer multiple courses, export student lists from each course and upload them all to Email Extractor. Deduplication creates a combined list of unique email addresses. Download CSV with sources and compare the source names to find addresses shared by the exports. Confirm course enrolment and student identity in the original records; multiple addresses can belong to one student.
Re-engagement campaigns
Extract email addresses from students who signed up but did not complete a course. Import into your email platform for re-engagement sequences encouraging them to return.
Verify addresses
Students who signed up months or years ago may have changed email addresses. Verify the list before outreach. See Best email verification services.
Things to Know
Contact data is not preserved
Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Names, course enrolment details, progress, completion status and sign-up dates from the Thinkific export are not carried over.
Free vs paid students
Thinkific supports both free and paid courses. The user export includes both types. Filter within Thinkific if you need only paid customers or only free sign-ups.
No built-in email marketing
Unlike Kajabi or Systeme.io, Thinkific does not include a built-in email marketing tool for campaigns and sequences. Thinkific provides course-related notifications (enrolment confirmation, course completion) but not marketing emails. Extraction and import into a dedicated email platform is the standard approach.
Integrations
Thinkific integrates with email platforms, CRMs and automation tools (Zapier, Make). If integrations are active, student data may already flow to your other tools. Extraction remains useful for consolidation and verification.
Thinkific Plus
Thinkific Plus is the enterprise tier with additional features including advanced reporting and integrations. Export capabilities are available on standard plans as well.
Communities
Thinkific includes community features. Community members are also users with email addresses stored in the system.
