How to Import Extracted Emails into Streak CRM
On this page
Export and import options vary by plan, permissions and product version. Check the platform’s current help documentation if a menu or format differs. Use only contact data you are authorized to process; an extracted address is not proof of marketing consent.
Why Import into Streak CRM?
Streak is a CRM that lives inside Gmail. It provides pipeline management, contact tracking, email tracking, mail merge, snippets (templates), shared pipelines, reporting and automation. Streak works as a Chrome extension and integrates directly with Gmail, so you manage your CRM without leaving your inbox.
After extracting email addresses with Email Extractor, you can import them into Streak to create contacts and boxes (records) in your pipelines, send mail merge campaigns and track relationships.
Preparing the File
Email Extractor gives you three download formats:
TXT file. One email per line.
CSV file. One column of email addresses. Works well for Streak import.
CSV with sources. Two columns: email and source file. Map only the email column during import.
For Streak, CSV is the recommended format.
How to Import
- Open Gmail with the Streak extension installed.
- Open the pipeline where you want to import contacts.
- Click the Import option (or go to Streak settings for import).
- Upload the CSV file.
- Map the email column to the Email field.
- Streak creates boxes (records) in the pipeline with the mapped email addresses as contacts.
- Review the import summary.
After Import
Organise in pipelines
Streak uses pipelines (sales, hiring, support, fundraising, etc.) to organise work. Move imported boxes through pipeline stages as you work with each contact.
Send mail merge
Streak's mail merge feature lets you send personalised emails to multiple contacts from Gmail. Select imported contacts and start a mail merge campaign.
Email tracking
Streak tracks email opens and link clicks. After importing contacts and sending emails, you can see engagement data.
Use snippets
Create email templates (snippets) and use them when emailing imported contacts.
Verify addresses
Consider verifying the extracted list before importing. See Best email verification services.
Things to Know
Contact data is not preserved
Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Names, companies and other details will not be populated. Add this data manually or let Streak populate from Gmail data.
Boxes vs contacts
Streak uses boxes (records) in pipelines. Each box can have one or more contacts (email addresses) associated with it. Imported emails can create boxes or be added to existing boxes.
Gmail integration
Streak pulls email conversation history from Gmail. After importing a contact, past Gmail conversations with that email address appear in the box timeline.
Chrome extension
Streak requires the Chrome extension to function. The CRM features appear inside the Gmail interface.
Pipeline types
Streak offers pre-built pipeline templates (sales, hiring, fundraising, support, project management) and custom pipelines. Import contacts into the pipeline that matches your use case.
Contact limits
Streak plans have box limits. The free plan has limited boxes. Check your plan's capacity before importing.
Mail merge limits
Streak's mail merge respects Gmail's daily sending limits. Gmail limits sending to approximately 500 emails per day for regular accounts and 2,000 for Google Workspace accounts.
Email Extractor does not establish consent
Extracting email addresses does not create permission to send marketing emails. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
