How to Extract Emails from Gumroad Customers

Why Extract from Gumroad?
Gumroad is a platform for selling digital products, memberships, courses and physical goods directly to customers. It provides a storefront, checkout, payment processing, file delivery, email marketing (Gumroad Workflows), affiliates, discount codes and analytics. Gumroad stores customer email addresses for everyone who purchases or subscribes.
Extracting email addresses from Gumroad data is useful for importing into a dedicated email marketing platform, consolidating customers across sales channels, building segmented lists by product or comparing buyers with newsletter subscribers.
How to Export from Gumroad
Exporting customers
- Log in to Gumroad.
- Go to Audience (or Customers).
- Click Export.
- Download the CSV. It includes email, name, purchase date, product, amount and other fields.
Exporting by product
- Go to the product's page in your dashboard.
- View the customer list for that product.
- Export as CSV.
Exporting subscribers
- Go to Audience and filter by followers or subscribers (people who followed you on Gumroad without purchasing).
- Export as CSV.
How to Extract the Email Addresses
- Go to bulkemailextractor.com.
- Select "Text and files."
- Upload the CSV file exported from Gumroad. Up to 25 MB per file, 100 MB per batch.
- Click "Extract emails."
- Review the results. Duplicates are removed automatically.
- Download as TXT for a plain list, CSV for a single-column spreadsheet, or CSV with sources.
Working with the Results
Import into a marketing platform
Gumroad has built-in email features (Workflows) for automated sequences and broadcasts. For more advanced email marketing (complex automations, detailed segmentation, A/B testing, landing pages), import the extracted list into Kit, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign or another platform.
Consolidate across platforms
If you sell products on multiple platforms (Gumroad, Shopify, your own website, Etsy), export customer data from each and upload together. Deduplication shows your total unique email-address count.
This counts distinct email strings using case-insensitive matching, not distinct people. One person may have multiple addresses, and shared addresses may represent several people.
Segment by product
Export customers for different products separately. Process each through Email Extractor to create product-specific email lists for targeted campaigns.
Verify addresses
Customer emails from Gumroad are generally valid since they are used for purchase receipts and product delivery. However, some customers may use temporary or secondary addresses. Verification before long-term campaigns is recommended. See Best email verification services.
Things to Know
Contact data is not preserved
Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Names, purchase amounts, product names, dates and other fields from the Gumroad export are not carried over.
Customers vs followers
Gumroad distinguishes between customers (people who purchased) and followers (people who followed your profile without purchasing). Both can be exported, but they represent different levels of engagement.
Refunded customers
Refunded purchases still appear in customer data. Refunded customers' emails will be included in extraction results.
Free products
Gumroad supports free products (pay-what-you-want with a minimum of zero). People who download free products are included in your customer list with their email address.
Membership products
Gumroad supports membership products with recurring payments. Members' emails appear in customer exports. Active and cancelled memberships may both be included.
Gumroad Workflows
Gumroad Workflows allow you to send automated email sequences to customers. If you are migrating to an external email platform, extract all customer emails before switching.
Privacy
Customer email addresses were collected for product delivery and transaction purposes. Marketing use depends on your Gumroad checkout settings and privacy policy.
