How to Extract Emails from a Less Annoying CRM Export

On this page

Export and import options vary by plan, permissions and product version. Check the platform’s current help documentation if a menu or format differs. Use only contact data you are authorized to process; an extracted address is not proof of marketing consent.

Why Extract from Less Annoying CRM?

Less Annoying CRM (LACRM) is a simple, affordable CRM designed for small businesses. It focuses on contact management, calendar, tasks and pipeline tracking without the complexity of enterprise CRMs. LACRM stores contact records that include email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, companies, custom fields, notes, pipeline stages and activity history.

Extracting email addresses from Less Annoying CRM data is useful in several scenarios.

Migrating to another CRM. When switching from Less Annoying CRM to HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM or another platform, extracting email addresses helps verify that all contacts transferred correctly.

Building email campaign lists. LACRM does not include built-in email marketing features. To send newsletters or marketing campaigns, you need to export contacts and import them into an email marketing platform like Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign or MailerLite.

Consolidating contacts. If you use LACRM alongside other tools (a separate email platform, an invoicing tool, a scheduling tool), extracting from each and deduplicating reveals your total unique email-address count.

This counts distinct email strings using case-insensitive matching, not distinct people. One person may have multiple addresses, and shared addresses may represent several people.

Backing up contacts. Before making significant changes to your CRM or switching plans, extracting ensures you have an independent copy of every contact's email address.

How to Export from Less Annoying CRM

Less Annoying CRM allows you to export all your contacts.

Exporting contacts

  1. Log in to Less Annoying CRM.
  2. Go to Contacts.
  3. Click Export (typically found at the top of the contacts view or in the settings/tools menu).
  4. Choose to export all contacts or apply filters first.
  5. The export downloads as a CSV file.
  6. Save the file.

Export fields

The LACRM export includes: email address, name (first and last), company, phone numbers, address, custom fields, pipeline information, groups, notes (optionally) and date added. The exact columns depend on your LACRM configuration.

How to Extract the Email Addresses

  1. Go to bulkemailextractor.com.
  2. Select "Text and files."
  3. Upload the CSV file. Up to 25 MB per file, 100 MB per batch.
  4. Click "Extract emails."
  5. Review the results. Duplicates are removed automatically.
  6. Download as TXT for a plain list, CSV for a single-column spreadsheet, or CSV with sources.

Working with the Results

Import into an email marketing platform

Since LACRM does not include email marketing, the primary use case for extraction is importing the list into Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, MailerLite, Constant Contact or another email platform for campaign sending.

Prepare for CRM migration

When migrating to a new CRM, extract from LACRM before and from the new CRM after migration. Comparing both lists confirms all contacts were successfully moved.

Combine with other data sources

If you collect contacts through forms, events, email or other channels that do not flow into LACRM, extract from each source and deduplicate. This reveals your unique email-address count. Compare source names to see which addresses are absent from the LACRM export; this does not establish which people are missing.

Verify addresses

Small business CRMs often accumulate contacts over years. Some email addresses may no longer be valid. Run the extracted list through a verification service before using it for email campaigns. See Best email verification services.

Things to Know

Column headers are not extracted

CSV column headers from LACRM are text, not email addresses, so they do not appear in the extracted results.

Contact data is not preserved

Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Names, companies, phone numbers, pipeline stages, groups, custom fields and notes from the LACRM export are not carried over. If you need those fields, import the original CSV directly.

Multiple email addresses per contact

LACRM contacts can have more than one email address. All email addresses in the export are extracted. A contact with two email addresses contributes two entries to the extracted list.

Groups

LACRM supports groups for organising contacts (e.g., "Customers," "Prospects," "Vendors"). If you want to extract from a specific group, filter your contacts by group before exporting, or use the group column in the export to sort the original CSV before uploading.

Pipeline contacts

Contacts in LACRM pipelines have stage information (e.g., "Qualified lead," "Proposal sent," "Won"). This data is not preserved during extraction. If you need to segment by pipeline stage, work with the original export.

Simplicity of export

One advantage of LACRM is the simplicity of its export process. Unlike some enterprise CRMs with complex export workflows, LACRM provides a straightforward CSV download of all contacts.

No API complexity

LACRM does offer an API, but for most users the CSV export is the easiest and most complete way to get data out. The extracted email list from the CSV covers all contacts without needing technical API knowledge.
