Why Extract from Mailchimp Reports?
Mailchimp campaign reports track email performance including opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes and link activity. Each report contains subscriber-level engagement data with email addresses.
While general Mailchimp exports are covered in Extract Emails from Mailchimp Export and audience segments in Extract Emails from Mailchimp Audience Segments, this article focuses on report-specific exports for engagement-based lists.

Working with the Results
Engaged subscriber lists
Extract emails from subscribers who opened or clicked. Import into a CRM for sales follow-up on warm leads.
Re-engagement campaigns
Extract emails from subscribers who did not open recent campaigns. Use the list for re-engagement with different subject lines or content.
Bounce cleanup
Extract bounced email addresses. Cross-reference with your main list to identify addresses that need removal.
Cross-campaign analysis
Export engagement data from multiple campaigns and upload together. Deduplication creates a combined list of unique email addresses. Download CSV with sources to see which campaign exports contain each address. Measure engagement frequency using the campaign event records, dates and bot filtering; repeated text occurrences are not a count of human opens or clicks.
Verify addresses
Recorded opens and clicks do not confirm a human reader or a currently reachable mailbox. Security scanners can generate clicks, and privacy features can generate opens; compare activity with replies or conversions before interpreting engagement. See Mailchimp’s explanation of automated opens and clicks and Apple’s explanation of background content loading. Bounced addresses need review. See Best email verification services.
Things to Know
Contact data is not preserved
Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Names, open counts, click counts, campaign names and other Mailchimp fields are not carried over.
Report data vs. audience data
Report exports focus on a single campaign's engagement. Audience exports give the full subscriber list with aggregate engagement data.
