How to Extract Emails from Sender Automations

Export and import options vary by plan, permissions and product version. Check the platform’s current help documentation if a menu or format differs. Use only contact data you are authorized to process; an extracted address is not proof of marketing consent.

Why Extract from Sender Automations?

Sender is an email and SMS marketing platform with automation features for welcome sequences, abandoned cart recovery, re-engagement campaigns and custom workflows. Subscribers enter automations based on triggers like form signups, segment membership, purchase events and tag changes.

Extracting email addresses from Sender automation data is useful for auditing which subscribers went through a specific workflow, building follow-up segments, sharing data with teams outside Sender or analyzing automation performance.

How to Export from Sender

Exporting a subscriber group

  1. Log in to Sender.
  2. Go to Subscribers.
  3. Select the group associated with your automation.
  4. Click Export to download as CSV.

Using segments

  1. Go to Subscribers then Segments.
  2. Create or select a segment based on automation-related criteria (e.
  3. Export the segment as CSV.

Using tags

  1. Configure automations to apply tags at key steps (e.
  2. Go to Subscribers and filter by the relevant tag.
  3. Export the filtered contacts as CSV.

Using the Sender API

  1. Use the subscribers endpoint to retrieve contacts from a specific group.
  2. Filter by tags or custom fields.
  3. Save results as CSV or JSON.

How to Extract the Email Addresses

  1. Go to bulkemailextractor.com.
  2. Select "Text and files."
  3. Upload the CSV file from Sender. Up to 25 MB per file, 100 MB per batch.
  4. Click "Extract emails."
  5. Review the results. Duplicates are removed automatically.
  6. Download as TXT for a plain list, CSV for a single-column spreadsheet, or CSV with sources.

Things to Know

Contact data is not preserved

Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Names, tags, phone numbers, custom fields and other Sender data are not carried over.

Groups and tags

Sender uses groups for organizing subscribers and tags for tracking behavior. Automations are associated with groups and can apply tags at any step.

Multi-channel automations

Sender automations can include both email and SMS steps. Only contacts with email addresses are relevant for email extraction.
