How to Extract Emails from a Sender Export

On this page

Export and import options vary by plan, permissions and product version. Check the platform’s current help documentation if a menu or format differs. Use only contact data you are authorized to process; an extracted address is not proof of marketing consent.

Why Extract from Sender?

Sender is an email marketing platform that offers email and SMS campaigns, automation workflows, pop-up forms and subscriber management. It has a generous free tier, making it popular with small businesses, bloggers and ecommerce stores. Sender stores subscriber records that include email addresses, names, phone numbers, subscription status, custom fields and engagement data.

Extracting email addresses from Sender data is useful in several scenarios.

Migrating to another platform. When switching from Sender to a different email marketing service (Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, Kit, Brevo), a clean email list provides a starting point for the new platform.

Consolidating subscribers. If you use Sender alongside other tools (a CRM, a form builder, an ecommerce platform), extracting from each and deduplicating shows your total unique email-address count.

This counts distinct email strings using case-insensitive matching, not distinct people. One person may have multiple addresses, and shared addresses may represent several people.

Backing up your list. Having an independent copy of your subscriber email addresses outside of Sender protects against accidental deletion, account issues or plan changes.

Comparing lists across tools. Extracting from Sender and another platform reveals which subscribers exist in both, which are unique to each, and where gaps may exist.

How to Export from Sender

Sender allows you to export subscriber data from your groups (lists).

Exporting subscribers

  1. Log in to Sender.
  2. Go to Subscribers (or Groups).
  3. Select the group you want to export, or choose all subscribers.
  4. Click Export (or the download/export button).
  5. Choose CSV as the format.
  6. Download the file. For large lists, the export may take a moment to prepare.

Export fields

Sender subscriber exports can include: email address, first name, last name, phone number, subscription status (active, unsubscribed, bounced), custom fields, group membership, creation date and engagement data. The exact columns depend on your Sender configuration and which fields you have set up.

How to Extract the Email Addresses

  1. Go to bulkemailextractor.com.
  2. Select "Text and files."
  3. Upload the CSV file (or files, if you exported from multiple groups). Up to 25 MB per file, 100 MB per batch.
  4. Click "Extract emails."
  5. Review the results. Duplicates are removed automatically.
  6. Download as TXT for a plain list, CSV for a single-column spreadsheet, or CSV with sources to see which export file each address came from.

Working with the Results

Migrate to a new platform

Import the extracted list into your new email marketing platform. Most platforms accept CSV imports with an email column. Since Email Extractor outputs email addresses only, subscriber names, custom fields and engagement data will not carry over. Use the original Sender CSV for those additional fields.

Combine with ecommerce data

If you use Sender for your online store's email marketing alongside Shopify, WooCommerce or another ecommerce platform, export customer lists from both. Uploading both files and extracting shows which store customers are subscribed in Sender and which are not.

Compare groups

If you maintain multiple subscriber groups in Sender (e.g., "Newsletter," "Promotions," "Product updates"), export each group separately. Upload all files and download as CSV with sources. Compare the source names to identify addresses shared by those group exports. Group membership and subscription status should be confirmed in the original records.

Verify before sending

If your Sender account has accumulated subscribers over a long period, some addresses may have become invalid. Run the extracted list through a verification service to identify bounced or risky addresses. See Best email verification services.

Things to Know

Column headers are not extracted

CSV column headers from Sender are text, not email addresses, so they do not appear in the extracted results.

Subscriber data is not preserved

Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Names, phone numbers, custom fields, group memberships, engagement metrics and other metadata from the Sender export are not carried over. If you need those fields in a new platform, import the original CSV directly.

Unsubscribed and bounced contacts

Depending on your export settings, Sender may include unsubscribed and bounced contacts in the export. These addresses will appear in the extracted results. Do not re-subscribe these contacts on another platform without their consent. Check the status column in the original export.

Free plan limits

Sender's free plan has subscriber limits. The export feature is available on all plans. If you are evaluating whether to upgrade, extracting and deduplicating your subscriber list gives you an independent count to compare with Sender's dashboard.

SMS contacts

If you use Sender for SMS marketing, some contacts may have a phone number but no email address. These contacts will not appear in the extracted results since there is no email address to extract.
