How to Extract Emails from Carrd Form Submissions
On this page
Export and import options vary by plan, permissions and product version. Check the platform’s current help documentation if a menu or format differs. Use only contact data you are authorized to process; an extracted address is not proof of marketing consent.
Why Extract from Carrd?
Carrd is a platform for building simple, responsive one-page websites. It is popular for landing pages, personal sites, portfolios and link-in-bio pages. Carrd Pro plans support forms that can collect email addresses, names and other information from visitors. Carrd does not have a built-in CRM or contact database. Instead, form submissions are sent to a connected service (email, Google Sheets, Zapier, Mailchimp, etc.) or delivered via email notification.
Extracting email addresses from Carrd form submissions is useful in several scenarios.
Building a subscriber list. If you use Carrd for a newsletter sign-up page, product launch page or waitlist, extracting gives you a clean email list.
Consolidating leads. If you run multiple Carrd sites for different projects, extracting from each and deduplicating reveals your total unique lead count.
Switching platforms. When moving from Carrd to another website builder, extracting your form submission data ensures no contacts are lost.
Backing up contacts. Even if Carrd sends form data to another service, having a separate extracted email list provides an independent backup.
How to Get Form Data from Carrd
Carrd does not store form submissions in a central dashboard. Where your form data goes depends on how you configured the form.
If forms are sent to Google Sheets
- Open the Google Sheet that receives your Carrd form submissions.
- Go to File > Download > Comma Separated Values (.csv).
- Download the CSV file.
If forms are sent via email notification
- Open the notification emails containing form submissions.
- Save them as EML or MSG files.
- Or copy the submission data from emails, paste it into a text file and save as TXT.
If forms are sent to Zapier or Make
- Check the Zapier Zap or Make scenario that handles your Carrd form data.
- If the data is sent to a spreadsheet, export that spreadsheet as CSV.
- If the data is sent to another service (CRM, email platform), export from that service instead.
If forms are connected to Mailchimp or another email service
- Form submissions may go directly to a Mailchimp list or similar service.
- Export from that service. See the relevant guide (e.g., Extract emails from a Mailchimp export).
How to Extract the Email Addresses
- Go to bulkemailextractor.com.
- Select "Text and files."
- Upload the CSV, TXT, EML or MSG file (or multiple files from different sources). Up to 25 MB per file, 100 MB per batch.
- Click "Extract emails."
- Review the results. Duplicates are removed automatically.
- Download as TXT for a plain list, CSV for a single-column spreadsheet, or CSV with sources.
Working with the Results
Import into an email marketing platform
The extracted list can be imported into Mailchimp, Kit, MailerLite, ActiveCampaign or any platform. This is useful when your Carrd form is a sign-up page for a newsletter, product or course.
Import into a CRM
If Carrd form submissions represent leads or prospects, import the extracted list into HubSpot, Pipedrive or another CRM for pipeline management.
Combine data from multiple Carrd sites
Upload data from all your Carrd form destinations together. Deduplication creates a combined list of unique email addresses. Download CSV with sources and compare the source names to find addresses shared by the exports. Use the original records for person matching or status checks; the comparison only establishes that the same email string appears in multiple sources.
Verify addresses
Landing page forms can attract bot submissions and typos. Running the extracted list through a verification service removes invalid addresses. See Best email verification services.
Things to Know
No central form database
Carrd does not store form submissions in a central database or dashboard. All form data is sent to the destination you configured (email, Google Sheets, Zapier, etc.). If you did not configure a persistent destination, submissions that were only sent via email notification need to be recovered from your email inbox.
Email notification format
Carrd form email notifications are plain text or HTML emails. If you save these as EML or MSG files, Email Extractor will read the email body text and extract email addresses from it. Both the submitter's email address and any other email addresses mentioned in the notification body will be extracted.
Column headers from spreadsheets are not extracted
If Carrd sends form data to Google Sheets, the column headers (Name, Email, Message, etc.) are text labels and will not appear in the extracted results.
Submission data is not preserved
Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Names, messages, custom field responses and timestamps from the Carrd form submissions are not carried over.
Carrd widget emails
Some Carrd templates include contact info widgets where you display your own email address. If you export or copy page content, your own email address may be extracted alongside form submissions.
Spam submissions
Carrd forms have limited built-in spam protection. If your landing page receives significant traffic, you may have spam submissions with fake email addresses. Verification after extraction helps filter these out.
Multiple forms per site
A single Carrd site can have multiple forms (e.g., a newsletter sign-up at the top and a contact form at the bottom). If both send to the same destination, submissions from both forms are combined. Email Extractor deduplicates automatically.
