How to Extract Emails from Discord Server Members

On this page

Export and import options vary by plan, permissions and product version. Check the platform’s current help documentation if a menu or format differs. Use only contact data you are authorized to process; an extracted address is not proof of marketing consent.

Why Extract from Discord?

Discord is a communication platform originally popular with gaming communities and now used widely by businesses, open-source projects, educators and interest groups. It provides text channels, voice channels, video, threads, forums, roles, bots, integrations and community management tools.

Discord does not expose member email addresses to server administrators. However, community managers often collect email addresses through onboarding forms, bot-collected information, linked accounts or external tools connected to their Discord server.

How Discord Handles Email Addresses

What Discord does not share

Discord accounts have email addresses, but these are private. Server administrators and moderators cannot see or export the email addresses of server members. Discord does not provide a member email export feature.

How communities collect emails

Communities that need member email addresses typically collect them through external means:

  • Onboarding forms: A Google Form, Typeform, Tally or other form linked in the server's welcome channel or rules channel.
  • Bot-collected data: Bots like MEE6, Carl-bot or custom bots that require members to submit information including email during verification or onboarding.
  • Linked platforms: Discord integrations with platforms like Patreon, Gumroad, Whop or LaunchPass that require email-based accounts.
  • Role-gating tools: Tools that verify members through email before granting server access.

How to Extract from Collected Data

From onboarding forms

If you collect emails through Google Forms, Typeform or another form builder:

  1. Export the form responses as CSV.
  2. Go to bulkemailextractor.com.
  3. Select "Text and files."
  4. Upload the CSV. Up to 25 MB per file, 100 MB per batch.
  5. Click "Extract emails."
  6. Download the results.

See platform-specific guides: Google Forms, Typeform, Tally.

From bot data

Some bots store collected information in a database or allow exporting. Check the bot's dashboard or documentation for export options. Export as CSV or text and upload to Email Extractor.

From linked platforms

If members join through Patreon, Gumroad or a similar platform, export customer or patron data from that platform and extract emails. See the relevant platform guide.

From channel messages

If members have posted their email addresses in Discord channels (a signup thread, an introduction channel), you can copy the channel text and paste it into Email Extractor:

  1. Go to bulkemailextractor.com.
  2. Select "Text and files."
  3. Paste the copied channel text into the text area.
  4. Click "Extract emails."
  5. Email Extractor will find all email addresses within the text.

Working with the Results

Import into a marketing platform

Import the extracted list into Mailchimp, Kit, ActiveCampaign or another platform for newsletters, announcements and community updates.

Compare with member list

Discord provides a member list with usernames. If your onboarding form collected both Discord username and email, you can cross-reference the form responses with the current member list.

Verify addresses

Email addresses collected through forms may contain typos. Verification before sending campaigns is recommended. See Best email verification services.

Things to Know

Discord does not provide member emails

This is the most important thing to understand. Discord member email addresses are private and not accessible to server administrators. You can only extract emails that you collected through your own external tools.

Terms of service

Respect Discord's Terms of Service and community guidelines. Scraping member data or using automated tools to harvest information from Discord servers without consent may violate their policies.

Consent

Collect email addresses with clear consent. Tell members why you are collecting their email and how it will be used.

Community size vs email list size

Your email list will typically be smaller than your Discord member count, since not all members will provide their email address through your collection method.

Alternative: newsletter channels

Discord supports announcement channels and webhook integrations. You can connect your email marketing platform to post newsletter content directly in Discord, reaching members without needing their email addresses.
