Why Communication Tools Store Email Addresses
Workplace communication platforms require email addresses for account creation, notifications, invitations and integrations. Every member of a Slack workspace, Microsoft Teams organization, Discord server or similar platform has an associated email address. These addresses are useful for building team directories, auditing membership, migrating between platforms, creating distribution lists and consolidating contacts.

Slack
Slack is a messaging platform organized around channels, used by teams for real-time communication, file sharing and integrations.
How to export members: Workspace admins can export the member list as CSV from the admin panel. The workspace export (Settings > Import/Export) includes a users.json file with email addresses.

Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams is part of Microsoft 365, providing chat, video conferencing, file sharing and app integrations for organizations.
How to export members: Microsoft 365 admins can export the user directory as CSV from the Admin Center. Specific team membership can be exported using PowerShell or the Microsoft Graph API.

Discord
Discord is a communication platform popular with gaming communities, creator groups, open source projects and increasingly with business teams.
How to export members: Discord does not provide a native member export feature. Server admins can use bot integrations to export member data or use the Discord API. See Extract Emails from Discord Server Members.
Google Chat / Google Workspace
Google Chat is the messaging component of Google Workspace, integrated with Gmail, Drive, Calendar and Meet.

Notion
Notion is a workspace tool for notes, databases, wikis and project management. Workspace members have email addresses.

How to Extract from Any Communication Tool
The process is the same across platforms:
- Export the member list as CSV or JSON (admin access typically required).
- Go to bulkemailextractor.com.
- Select "Text and files."
- Upload the file. Up to 25 MB per file, 100 MB per batch.
- Click "Extract emails."
- Review the results. Duplicates are removed automatically.
- Download as TXT, CSV, or CSV with sources.
After Extraction
Build a team directory
Create a consolidated employee or team directory for use in external tools, onboarding or internal communications.
Audit membership
Compare extracted lists against HR records to identify inactive accounts, departed employees or unauthorized guests.
Platform migration
If switching communication tools (e.g. Slack to Microsoft Teams), extract member emails to invite them to the new platform.
Cross-platform consolidation
If your organization uses multiple communication tools, export members from each and upload together. Deduplication shows total unique team members.
Verify addresses

Admin access required
Exporting member data from communication platforms typically requires admin or owner permissions.
Internal vs. external members
Most platforms distinguish between internal members and external guests. Both may appear in exports.
Privacy considerations
Member email addresses are shared with workspace administrators for management purposes. Using them for purposes beyond workspace administration may require additional consent.
