Every ecommerce platform collects customer email addresses as part of the checkout process. Email is required for order confirmations, shipping notifications, receipts and customer communication. This makes your ecommerce platform one of the most reliable sources of customer email addresses.
Extracting and consolidating customer emails from your ecommerce platform is useful for building marketing lists, comparing buyers with newsletter subscribers, identifying customers across multiple sales channels, importing into a CRM and creating segmented campaigns based on purchase behaviour.

Shopify

How to Extract from Any Ecommerce Platform
The process is the same across platforms:
- Export customers, orders or contacts from the platform as CSV.
- Go to bulkemailextractor.com.
- Select "Text and files."
- Upload the file (or multiple files from different stores). Up to 25 MB per file, 100 MB per batch.
- Click "Extract emails."
- Review the results. Duplicates across all uploaded files are removed automatically.
- Download as TXT, CSV, or CSV with sources.
Multi-Channel Consolidation
Many businesses sell through multiple channels simultaneously. Upload customer exports from all channels together:
- Your own store (Shopify, WooCommerce, Squarespace)
- Marketplaces (Etsy, Amazon)
- Payment processors (Stripe, PayPal)

Deduplication creates a combined list of unique email addresses. Download CSV with sources and compare the source names to find addresses shared by the exports. Use the original transaction records to confirm purchases and match customers; unique addresses are not a count of unique people.
After Extraction
Import into a marketing platform
Ecommerce platforms are designed for selling, and their built-in email marketing (Shopify Email, Squarespace Email Campaigns) is often limited. For advanced marketing, import the extracted list into Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Omnisend or another dedicated platform.
Verify addresses
Customer emails from checkout are generally valid. However, older customer emails may have become inactive. Verification before re-engagement campaigns is recommended. See Best email verification services.
Respect marketing consent
Not all customers who purchase have opted in to marketing emails. Check your platform's consent tracking before sending campaigns.
