How to Extract Emails from a SendPulse Export

On this page

Export and import options vary by plan, permissions and product version. Check the platform’s current help documentation if a menu or format differs. Use only contact data you are authorized to process; an extracted address is not proof of marketing consent.

Why Extract from SendPulse?

SendPulse is a multi-channel marketing platform that combines email marketing, web push notifications, SMS, chatbots and a CRM. It is used by businesses of various sizes for email campaigns, automation workflows, subscriber management and transactional messaging. SendPulse stores subscriber records that include email addresses, names, phone numbers, subscription status, custom variables, ratings and engagement data.

Extracting email addresses from SendPulse data is useful in several scenarios.

Migrating to another platform. When switching from SendPulse to a different email marketing service, a clean email list provides a starting point for the new platform.

Consolidating contacts across channels. If you use SendPulse for email alongside other channels (chatbots, SMS, web push), your subscriber counts across channels may overlap. Extracting the email list helps you understand your email-specific audience.

Comparing with other tools. If you use SendPulse alongside a CRM, a form builder, or another marketing tool, extracting from each and deduplicating shows your total unique email-address count.

This counts distinct email strings using case-insensitive matching, not distinct people. One person may have multiple addresses, and shared addresses may represent several people.

Backing up your list. Having an independent copy of your subscriber email addresses outside of SendPulse protects against accidental deletion or account issues.

How to Export from SendPulse

SendPulse allows you to export mailing list data.

Exporting a mailing list

  1. Log in to SendPulse.
  2. Go to Mailing Lists (or Address Books).
  3. Select the mailing list you want to export.
  4. Click Export (or the export button).
  5. Choose the export format (CSV or other available options).
  6. Download the file.

Export fields

SendPulse exports can include: email address, first name, last name, phone number, subscription status (active, unsubscribed, bounced, complained), rating (SendPulse's internal engagement score), custom variables, add date and other fields depending on your configuration.

How to Extract the Email Addresses

  1. Go to bulkemailextractor.com.
  2. Select "Text and files."
  3. Upload the CSV file (or files, if you exported from multiple mailing lists). Up to 25 MB per file, 100 MB per batch.
  4. Click "Extract emails."
  5. Review the results. Duplicates are removed automatically.
  6. Download as TXT for a plain list, CSV for a single-column spreadsheet, or CSV with sources to see which mailing list export each address came from.

Working with the Results

Compare mailing lists

If you maintain multiple mailing lists in SendPulse, export each and upload all files. Deduplication creates a combined list of unique email addresses. Download CSV with sources and compare the source names to find addresses shared by the exports. Confirm subscription or membership status in the original records; matching addresses alone do not establish a current active membership.

Combine with chatbot subscribers

If you use SendPulse chatbots (for Facebook Messenger, Telegram, WhatsApp), some chatbot subscribers may also be email subscribers. While chatbot subscriber data is managed separately, combining email exports with any email addresses collected through chatbots reveals cross-channel overlap.

Migrate to a new platform

Import the extracted list into your new email marketing platform. Most platforms accept CSV imports. Since Email Extractor outputs email addresses only, subscriber names, ratings and custom variables will not carry over. Use the original SendPulse CSV for those fields.

Verify list health

Run the extracted list through a verification service before migrating or before a large campaign. SendPulse's rating system helps identify engaged subscribers, but verification catches addresses that have become invalid. See Best email verification services.

Things to Know

Column headers are not extracted

CSV column headers from SendPulse are text, not email addresses, so they do not appear in the extracted results.

Subscriber data is not preserved

Email Extractor outputs email addresses only. Names, phone numbers, custom variables, ratings, engagement data and other metadata from the SendPulse export are not carried over. If you need those fields in a new platform, import the original CSV directly.

Unsubscribed and bounced contacts

Depending on your export settings, SendPulse may include unsubscribed, bounced and complained contacts. These addresses will appear in the extracted results. Do not re-subscribe these contacts on another platform. Check the status column in the original export.

SendPulse rating system

SendPulse assigns each subscriber a rating (typically 1 to 5 stars) based on engagement. This rating is included in exports as a numeric value. While Email Extractor does not preserve this data, it is useful for prioritising contacts when migrating. High-rated subscribers are your most engaged audience.

Free plan limits

SendPulse's free plan has subscriber and sending limits. The export feature is available on all plans.

Multi-channel contacts

SendPulse manages contacts across multiple channels. A single person may be an email subscriber, an SMS contact and a chatbot subscriber simultaneously. The email mailing list export covers only the email channel. Other channels have their own contact management.
